LumiSolarCell EL PL

Unique EL PL combined inspection system

The characterisation methods of the LumiSolarCell EL PL encompass both electroluminescence (EL) and photoluminescence (PL) techniques.

For EL, the methods include EL and reverse-biased EL imaging, which help assess the performance and integrity of the solar cells. Additionally, the measurement of the local cell voltage, mapping of the local current density, and optional evaluation of series resistance provide detailed insights into the electrical characteristics and efficiency of the cells.

In terms of PL, the methods involve PL imaging to visualize luminescent properties, biased PL to gain insights under different electrical conditions, and the mapping of minority carrier lifetime to measure the duration charge carriers exist before recombining. Together, these techniques over a comprehensive analysis of the solar cells’ performance and material properties.

There are two additional models of the LumiSolarCell EL PL system that over further characterisation methods:

  • LumiSolarCell EL PL IR also provides Thermography (IR) and Lock-in Thermography (LIT).
  • LumiSolarCell EL PL Rs enables Series resistance measurement.
