Wafer Inspection
Highly sensitive wafer inspection system
Raw wafers and processed wafers exhibit a variety of invisible defects which reduce the performance and stability of the end product, for example in solar cell production. The greateyes inspection systems image these problems.
Photoluminescence imaging has become an indispensable tool for non invasive, contactless quality control and optimisation along the process chain of solar cell manufacturing. The offered systems deliver spatially resolved information about important material properties and are therefore a valueable tool for production as well as research and development.
The award-winning LumiSolarCell System utilises the photoluminescence to image micro cracks, inhomogeneities, or other cell failures of photovoltaic wafers. Compared to other PL systems LumiSolarCell provides a unique approach to the world of PL inspection, using an innovative High-power LED light source for excitation of the substrates instead of a laser.
Photoluminescence and thermograph as contactless and therefore non-destructive methods are an indispensable tool for advanced solar research. The knowledge gained will lead to increased product quality and yield.

Providing camera control and data set visualisation
The LumiSolarCell software controls the camera and visualizes the data sets. The program can generate intensity profiles from the 16-bit high dynamic range image data. Basic picture manipulation procedures are included in the software. Dimension measurements of artefacts are possible following calibration as well as remote control of power supply and high power LED light source.
